Twelve celebrities battle it out to be Australia's first ever celebrity apprentice. Among them: AFL footballer Shane Crawford, beauty queen Jesinta Campbell, NRL footballer Wendell Sailor, celebrity agent Max Markson, and Polly from The Block. Presiding over them is successful entrepreneur Mark Bouris, who will dish out business assignments to each team, with the losing team summoned to the boardroom where one of them will be fired.

As the task continues, the finalists rush to prepare for their 7UP Retro events. One finalist's team is frustrated by their leader's lack of direction. The other finalist introduces Def Leppard before the band is ready to appear, creating an awkward break in their event. The next day, the two finalists, backed by their Celebrity helpers, face off in the boardroom.

In Montréal, Jean-Pierre is fired on the set of a TV commercial where he's an apprentice technician. He's penniless, behind on his rent, with a thin resume and no college units. He has a fiancée, Michelle, but his head is turned by a free-spirited model, from the U.S., who saw him being fired and comes to his flat to apologize. She's Elizabeth, a combination of feckless innocence and sexual freedom. Jean-Pierre borrows money from his outlaw friend, Dock, and buys clothes to impress Elizabeth. Soon he's sleeping with her, and he pulls a theft with Dock to get money to take her to Acapulco. Michelle tries to bring him back to her orbit. Is there a way out for Jean-Pierre?

The Apprentice is an Irish reality television series, in which a group of aspiring young businessmen and women compete for the chance to win a job as "apprentice" to Bill Cullen, a business magnate.The first series of the show aired on TV3 on 22 September 2008, and finished on 8 December 2008, with Brenda Shanahan as the winner. Shanahan worked at Cullen's company, Renault Ireland, on a 12-month contract worth €100,000. Steve Rayner, a Business Development Manager, won the second series in 2009. That series also featured Breffny Morgan. Michelle Massey won the job in the 2010 series, while Eugene Heary won in 2011. It was announced in May 2012 that the programme would not be renewed for a new series.The Apprentice is modelled on the American series of the same name, which stars entrepreneur Donald Trump, as well as the British series starring magnate Alan Sugar.Bill Cullen's assistants in the Irish version of The Apprentice are his partner, and former model, Jackie Lavin and PR "guru", Brian Purcell.
